History
The Congress met for the first time in April 1987 in Clearwater, Florida. At that Congress, there were fewer than 100 presentations including posters; abstracts were not published.
The Congress has grown to include over 1200 abstract submissions, which have been published in a special issue of Schizophrenia Bulletin or Schizophrenia Research since the 1991 meeting.
